I tried out this recipe for slow cooker Italian meatballs and sauce the other night. It’s actually more of an experiment that went right, so I decided to share it. I hope that you can use something simple like this in your weekly menu planning.
Here’s what you will need:
- 1 pkg. (approx. 12 – 16 oz.) frozen, pre-cooked meatballs
- 1 24 oz. can Hunt’s pasta sauce
- 1 cup diced peppers
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- ½ cup diced onions
You can use more or less veggies, according to your taste. I usually try to load up on the veggies. I also added a little minced garlic to the mix as well; again, you can add some according to your taste, and the type of sauce you are using.
Place the vegetables in the bottom of the slow cooker, and put the frozen meatballs on top of them, pouring the pasta sauce over the top. Put the lid on the slow cooker and your meal prep is done! Just cook on low heat for 4-6 hours. Serve the meatballs and sauce over pasta or rice. Serves 4.
This is such a quick and easy weekday recipe, and your family will love it. You’ll love how easy it is, and doesn’t require anything more than a few basic ingredients.
